Agronomics shares surge 50%

Agronomics (ANIC) FOLLOW shares soared 50% to 12p a share following a surge in trading volumes.

Almost 8 million shares traded hands on Monday, over fifteen times the daily average.

The company focus is investing in the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical sectors, recently completing a £4.5 million fundraise last week, which was 30% over subscribed.

The AIM quoted company was previously was listed as Port Erin, after it changed its name to Agronomics Limited in April.

According to the company's half year report, the company recently appointed Richard Reed, CBE as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

He is the co-founder of Innocent Drinks, the majority of which was sold to Coca-Cola for over US$ 500 million.

He is also a co-founder and partner of JamJar Investments, a venture capital investment fund based in London UK, specialising in early stage, high growth consumer technology and offline companies.
