Arix Bioscience backed Imara files for Nasdaq IPO

Arix Bioscience (ARIX) FOLLOW announced on Monday that its portfolio company Imara Inc. has filed for an IPO in the US. 

The London-listed global venture capital company that invests and builds breakthrough biotech companies revealed that Imara applied to list its common stock on the NASDAQ global market under the ticker IMRA.

Imara is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing new therapeutics to treat patients suffering from rare inherited genetic disorders of haemoglobin.

Shares in Arix Bioscience ticked up 1.15% to 88p during Monday trading

Imara filed IPO documents with the US Securities and Exchange Commission late Friday. 

According to the documents, Imara plans to raise $86.3 million, with Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and SVB Leerink underwriting the issue.

Arix’s statement said that the offering was subject to market conditions, and that there can be no assurances as to whether the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.

Arix said a further announcement would be made in due course.
