After months of preparation, Block Energy Plc FOLLOW has begun its workover programmes in Georgia, where the company has undertaken the re-entry of three wells.

Following the successful re-entry of the first three wells,  Block Energy has rigged up a fourth well “ahead of the application of a specialised perforation tool selected to significantly enhance recovery rates.”

These four well re-entries are the start of Block Energy’s multi-well work programme which consists of eight workovers with the target goal of producing 250 barrels of oil a day, a 25-fold increase, from Norio by early 2019.

Block Energy has a 100% working interest in Norio, which holds around 1.63 million barrels of gross oil reserves currently selling at Brent minus $10/bbl.

Chief Executive Officer, Paul Haywood expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the wealth of potential in Georgia: “With ExxonMobil recently entering the country and ongoing operations across Schlumberger’s 100% owned position next to our own licences, Georgia’s potential as a hydrocarbon region is being recognised by the industry.”
