Europa Metals assembles for new drilling at Toral Project
The objective of the drill programme is to seek out increased confidence levels in the resource within the central, proposed future mining area of the company's 100% owned Toral Project in North West Spain.
The new campaign will focus initially on a target area to the west of the current indicated resource area within the existing inferred zone, pictured below.
Europa has also initiated geotechnical and hydrogeological work programmes at the Toral project.
The hydrogeological programme has commenced and will begin the assessment of water conditions within the defined resource area, and the geotechnical programme will seek to ascertain the sub surface conditions of the defined resource area to advance the mine design work.
Following the completion of this work, geotechnical and hydrogeological drilling is scheduled to begin in Q1 2020 and is expected to enhance and assess the potential economic mine design for the project.
Additionally, the company reported that the metallurgical testwork being conducted by Wardell Armstrong LLP remains on schedule for completion in Q4 2019, with the majority of the intended testwork completed and the programme entering its final phase.
Europa believes the completion of all testworks are “fundamental next steps” in de-risking and optimising the development pathway of the Toral Project.
“We shall use the findings to begin optimising what we believe to be a low capex project with potentially highly attractive operating margins and a significant silver component,” commented Executive Director, Laurence Read.
