Immotion Group signs VR partnerships with US Aquariums

Immotion Group (IMMO) FOLLOW, the UK-based immersive virtual reality entertainment group told investors on Monday it signed an exclusive partnership with Shedd Aquarium in Chicago and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida.

Shedd Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world, with over 1.5 million species and approximately 1.9 million visitors annually.

While Mote is one of the most popular aquariums in the region as well as a leader in research and conservation.

Both Shedd and Mote will offer guests the Immotion Group’s 'Undersea Explorer' VR Cinematic motion pod with a range of underwater experiences that are already proving to be very popular with current aquarium and zoo partners.

Shares in Immotion Group ticked up 1.04% to 9.75p a share following the news

Immotion told investors that it and the aquarium partners have a shared revenue agreement from the 'Undersea Explorer' VR Cinematic pods.

Rod Findley, Immotion Group’s Commercial Director said: "Adding more quality partners to our fast expanding base of aquariums and zoos is a real testament to the quality of our experiences, motion platforms and operating system."
 
He added: “We are delighted to add our immersive edutainment experiences like "Swimming with Humpbacks" to their world-class exhibits and offerings. The partnerships underpin the company’s focus on the aquarium and zoo sector as it grows."

“We feel we have the perfect VR product for this market - one that's already delivering solid ancillary revenue, as well as enhanced customer experiences to aquariums and zoos around the world." Mr. Findley said
