Bens Creek Group (BEN), the owner of a metallurgical coal mine in North Americam said that it has commenced underground mining for the production of High Vol A coal. The current price (on 24 May 2022) was $468 per metric tonne. The company said this product enhances its offering to Integrity Coal Sales Inc., its offtake partner. The addition of HVA to its product line will further “add value” to the business.

PetroTal Corp. (PTAL) announced its financial and operating results for the three months ended March 31, 2022. The company said PetroTal was able to pivot through social downtime challenges extremely well while still showing quarter over quarter production growth and a revised 2022 budget that shareholders should be “very excited” about considering the drilling delays encountered in March.

Open Orphan (ORPH), a specialist contract research organisation, said that further to the appointment of Liberum Capital Limited as its Nominated Adviser and Joint Broker on 28 April 2022, Liberum has confirmed that is has completed its due diligence .

Poolbeg Pharma (POLB), a clinical stage infectious disease pharmaceutical company, said it has been granted patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office for POLB 001, a small molecule immunomodulator for the treatment of severe influenza and POLB 002, a first-in-class, intranasally administered RNA-based immunotherapy for respiratory virus infections. The company said the additional US patent protection of POLB 001 and POLB 002 is an important step in the commercialisation of these novel infectious disease products.

Coro Energy (CORO), the South-East Asian energy company, provided an update on its planned production enhancement operations and on the Sillaro gas field following a period of unexpectedly hot local weather. The company said that due to unexpectedly high temperatures in Italy over the last few days, gas production at Sillaro has seen an increase of moisture which is outside of the specification for the gas pipeline.

Sovereign Metals (SVML) reveals its ESG framework advances in Malawi. The company said that over the last decade it has worked “very hard” to establish and maintain a strong and positive social licence to operate in Malawi. The future development of the Kasiya Rutile Project will bring substantial benefits to Malawi. In advancing Kasiya, Sovereign “will strive” to become a leading socially responsible corporate.

SolGold (SOLG) provided an independently verified update regarding the Mineral Resource Estimate for its Tandayama-America porphyry copper-gold deposit at the Cascabel project in northern Ecuador. The company said the Cascabel project continues to grow with more drilling with the additional resources being identified at TAM providing an open pit resource potentially enabling Cascabel production to be brought forward and a significant risk mitigation to any ramp up delays in the underground production

CAP-XX (CPX), a designer and manufacturer of  supercapacitors, said that following its collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Sydney, it has posted on its website, a short video produced by the University outlining its collaborative work with CAP-XX on the optimisation of supercapacitor performance.

Jubilee (JLP), a leader in metals processing in Africa, announced the appointment of Manuel Lino Silva de Sousa Oliveira as independent non-executive director of the Company with immediate effect. He has also been appointed independent non-executive Chairman of Jubilee with effect from 1 June 2022. The company has also appointed Berenberg as joint corporate broker alongside its existing brokers, with immediate effect.

Hydrogen Future Industries (HFI), a developer of hydrogen production systems, updated on development progress following the formation in March 2022 of HFI Energy Systems Limited. The company said it is making “excellent progress” and preparing for installation of the 1 metre diameter wind prototype, potentially as early as next month. This milestone will represent the beginning of a hugely important testing and data collection period that will feed into the construction of the first commercial scale units of 5-metre diameter.
