Savannah Petroleum welcomes new Chief Operating Officer

welcomed Antoine Richard as the Company's Chief Operating Officer, with effect from 12 December 2019.Having over twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including over 10 years working in West Africa, Richard has worked for both major and independent energy firms including Total and Perenco.
Richard will be based in Lagos, replacing former COO, David Clarkson who will be returning to his role on Savannah's Board as a Non-Executive Director.
Andrew Knott, CEO of Savannah Petroleum said he believed that Richard would bring “a significant amount” of operational experience to the Savannah team.
Having held numerous managerial roles at Perenco including Global HSE Manager, Richard also previously acted as Vice President of Operations for Savannah between 2016 and 2018.
Shares in Savannah Petroleum were trading -2.38% lower at 20.50p on Thursday morning.
“I would also like to thank David for his significant contribution as we executed on our Niger operational campaign and conducted the integration of our Nigerian assets,” he added, further detailing that Richard had joined the company at “a very exciting time.”
Savannah hailed the high quality of its Nigerian assets on Wednesday following the publication of a competent person’s report.
“We continue to view these assets as a strong platform from which we will deliver further growth,” said Knott.
