Seeing Machines (SEE) FOLLOW is set to provide its FOVIO driver monitoring technology for a US automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Mass production is scheduled to begin in 2020 and could net over A$7 million for the Australian-based company.

Seeing Machines was appointed for integration by Chinese automotive safety systems manufacturer, Joyson Safety Systems, which comes as part of the company’s larger rollout of their driving system across additional vehicle models.

This rollout has resulted in now seven OEM production programs for Seeing Machines, which the company expects to deliver over A$150 million in revenue by 2024.

The FOVIO driver monitoring platform precisely measures and monitors inputs such as head pose and eyelid movements using advanced vision technology to adjudicate the driver’s attention state in real time.

The technology, while still in the roll-out process, has detected over four million “distraction events” and staged more than 85,000 “fatigue interventions.”

Seeing Machines’ GM of Automotive, Nick DiFiore said in a statement today that the company is “delighted” as this latest deal is a “further validation of our technology.”
