W Resources (WRES) FOLLOW announced today that the commissioning of its Jig and Mill plant has commenced at La Parilla tungsten and tin mine in Spain.

The Jig and Mill plant is expected to upgrade La Parilla’s ore, reject barren material, and prepare material for the concentrator plant.

Once fully commissioned, W Resources will feed the output from the Jig and Mill plant into the existing concentrator plant; however, the now upgraded and milled mine feed will allow for a significant upgrade in production rates.

The company also reports that its new, large-scale concentrator plant has, over the last three weeks, installed over 90% of all structural steel and primary equipment now on-site. Construction on the new constructor plant is expected to be completed this quarter.

The mine, the company explains, is “primed for scale-up,” having executed preparatory grade control drilling.

The mining contract will also be completed this month and the mining fleet will mobilize following the arrival of a Komatsu HD605 rigid truck.

Michael Masterman, Chairman of W Resources, commented: "The commencement of commissioning the La Parrilla Jig and Mill Plant following construction completion is a very important milestone as we advance to full completion of the 2 million tonne per annum plant.

The Concentrator Plant construction has accelerated rapidly following delivery of the bulk of the structural steel and is scheduled for mechanical completion this quarter… Overall the project continues to track below budget including contingency."
