A True Blue Sky Opportunity.

EVR Holdings (EVRH)

Share Price: 3p
Market Cap: 22m
Share in Issue: 720m

MelodyVR

Every now and again, a company comes along, at the right time, providing the right product.

Essentially, I believe EVR Holdings (EVRH) is this company, providing virtual reality music content (via their subsidiary MelodyVR) at a time when Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Sony and lot’s of other big players are making aggressive virtual land grab.

In 2012 Oculus, one of the most well known headset makers, raised $10m through crowdfunding. In 2014 they were bought by Facebook for $2bn.

The number of companies highlighting virtual reality as part of their business plans is up 375 per cent this year compared to last, according to Fortune Magazine.

At the moment, the focus seems to be on the hardware, that is the headsets BUT as more people enter this market, competition will drive the price of these headsets down. Even now you can pick up a cardboard headset from Google for free, or you can pop into your local supermarket and pick up a, half decent, set for £20.

Creating headsets can be done by any company. All they need to do is go to China, buy a job lot and brand them up. As more headsets flood the market, what are all these people going to be digesting?

The answer is content and more importantly not any old company can go out and capture VR content.

Over the last year MelodyVR has been built up a decent bank of musical content, “the creation of VR content with over 250 well known artists and musicians. Our library of VR content, which we believe to be the largest currently in existence, provides an excellent foundation for continued growth and future revenue generation. Over the last year, Melody has completed a number of exclusivity deals with artists, venues and event promoters that will see new VR content created regularly. We believe that these agreements combined with Melody’s first mover advantage, put us in a very strong position to capitalise upon the growing demand for VR experiences from the end consumer.”

Of course, I maybe wrong, it’s very hard to predict, “the next big thing”, especially in technology but when all the world’s major tech players are making a play in a certain space, at the same time, it gives you some indication, as to how hot this sector could be.

I believe EVR Holdings (EVRH), is one of those companies that comes along once in a generation. A company that has the potential to make early investors rich. It is, I believe, a true blue sky opportunity.

I talk about this company on the weekend podcast. Scroll into to 14 minutes 50 seconds to hear more.

I discuss, even though it sounds ludicrous, why revenue is irrelevant in this sector. If headsets sell at the rate the big companies expect, this Christmas, then it’s content that will be the real gold. Knowing this, these tech giants, will be more than prepared to buy up a company, with this content, for a massive premium.

It’s no coincidence that Anthony Machett, the CEO, has also been conducting lots of meeting in the US recently as discussed in this RNS.

The share price of EVR Holdings, has the potential to fly into the blue sky territory. Of course it may not come off but I do not want to take the chance of missing out in this virtually, white hot sector.
