Housebuilder Barratt Developments says in a trading statement that it expects full-year pre-tax profits to be ahead of market expectations at about £910m, up from £836m in 2018. It attributes the record performance to increased profit margins, a strong end to its financial year and an additional contribution from joint ventures. Barratt Developments Plc (BDEV.L) Announced, in its trading statement for the year ended 30 June 2019, that the Group has traded well across the country throughout the year and is making good progress against its medium-term targets. It expects profit before tax for the year to be around £910 million (2018: £835.5m million), ahead of market expectations and a record for the Group. It delivered incremental underlying operating margin improvements of around 70 bps this year driven mainly by margin initiatives. During the year, it opened 163 (2018: 142) new outlets (including JVs) and operated from an average of 379 (2018: 380) active outlets (including JVs). The total average selling price (ASP) for the year was £274k (2018: £288.9k), with private ASP at £312k (2018: £328.8k).
