Staffline Group plc (STAF.L, 990p/277m) Full year trading update to 31.12.18 (08.01.19) • Staffline reported that trading for the financial year would be in line with market expectations. • Revenues are expected to be c.18% higher than the 958m reported for FY2017 which suggests a figure of around 1,130m. • The Recruitment division has continued to grow with the acquisitions completed during the year performing ahead of management expectations. • The PeoplePlus division has made good progress and is now the UK's leading Skills and Training provider. Apprenticeship levy and Prison contract wins have helped offset reduced activity from the run-off of the Work Programme. • As part of this transition significant one-off exceptional costs of c.20m have been incurred in FY 2018 but no further costs of this nature are anticipated for FY2019. • These costs and costs related to acquisitions have increased net debt to 63m as at end December 2018. Allenby Capital comment The rise in net debt to 63m is surprising given that the figure twelve months earlier was just 16.5m and is significantly higher than market expectations of 23.3m*. However, historically the Group has generated strong cash flow and therefore, assuming modest expenditure on acquisitions in the current year, one could anticipate this position improving over the next twelve months. Nevertheless, borrowings should be well within the Group's facilities which were renegotiated in July 2018 with a 120m committed RCF and a further uncommitted RCF of 30m.
