GKN (GKN) was among the top performers, after it was boosted 8.8p, to 347.6p following an upgrade to ‘neutral’ from ‘underperform’ by analysts at Exane BNP. The broker said it is unlikely that the UK or US government would permit a Chinese takeover of the group, which has been rumoured for some time.
