Jersey-based firm, Predator Oil & Gas (AIM:PRD) FOLLOW, has appointed Moyra Scott as consultant project drilling manager to execute its Guercif drilling operations in Morocco, of which the group holds a 75% stake in.

Scott will be working for the group’s wholly owned subsidiary, Predator Gas Ventures, this morning’s statement outlined.

The AIM-listed firm cited Scott’s 25 years of experience where she worked for companies including Tullow Oil and BP on projects in North Africa.

Scott’s experience with SDX Energy’s 2014 drilling programme in the Rharb basin is deemed particularly relevant by Predator due to the drilling conditions which are likely to be encountered in the geologically analogous, larger gas targets of the Guercif drilling programme.

Shares in Predator Oil & Gas were trading 2.41% lower at 4.05p during Tuesday trading.

"The Company is delighted to have attracted someone of Moyra's exceptional calibre and experience to manage its drilling operations,” said Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of Predator.

Predator believe the move highlights the attractiveness of the value proposition at Guercif alongside the potential seen by others for “running room” based on a successful drilling campaign.

The company added that logistical planning has commenced whilst well services are also being sourced.

“Moyra's specific experience in this area of Morocco allows the Company to confidently plan and execute its drilling operations both cost-effectively and in a manner that maximises the chance of success whilst minimising operational risks,” added Griffiths.

Predator operates Guercif in a joint venture with the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines ("ONHYM") who act on behalf of the Moroccan state and control the remaining 25% stake.

The group is focused on the development of shallow gas at the Guercif Permits as a means of reducing Morocco’s carbon footprint.
