Assay results back from Buffalo project showing near surface, high grade copper values. Although in addition to these grades the results tell us a lot in terms of location of samples/continuation
Bezant Resources Plc (BZT.L) Announced the assay results from the Buffalo Project in Zambia. The selected significant assay results are from a total of 8 composite rock chip samples taken by the company's geological survey team as part of its ongoing exploration work on the Buffalo project, a 398 hectare copper/gold asset situated in the Central Zambian iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) belt. The sample results from BFR 2 and 3 confirm the tenor of strong copper grades obtained during an earlier reconnaissance visit to the site of the small-scale open pit at the Buffalo Project. Samples BFR 4 to 6 also demonstrate that copper mineralisation at potentially economic grades extends for some distance into the footwall and hangingwall margins of the 12-15m wide, near-vertical shear zone, thereby adding significantly to the width of the target for follow-up drilling.

SP Angel on new copper mines being financed to meet supply deficit: Copper US$ 5,843/t vs US$5,881/t yesterday Suffering from sustained deficit, the global copper market received a boost as Latin America’s second-largest copper producer, Southern Copper Corp, is awarded the licence to mine the giant Tia Maria project. The Peruvian government awarded the licence to start construction of its $1.4bn Tia Maria project, which has been delayed at least since 2010 amid sometimes deadly protests. Southern Copper report it won’t start building the mine until concerns from local communities are resolved. Southern Copper plans to invest more than $10bn to boost production to 1.81mt by 2026 from 987,000t projected this year, Chief Financial Officer Raul Jacob said. Southern Copper’s operations at Tia Maria will not affect other economic activities in the Tambo valley because it will use desalinated water, according to the statement. The company will build an industrial railway to carry mine supplies and copper ore, as well as a road access to the mine at a “prudent distance” from the Tambo valley, it said. Tia Maria is expected to produce 120,000t of copper annually. The market is currently expected to post a 189,000t deficit by the end of this year, according to the International Copper Study Group.
Bezant Resources Plc (BZT.L) Announced that its geological survey team has completed an exploration review on the Buffalo project, a 398 hectares copper/ gold asset situated in the Central Zambian iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) belt, over which the company holds a conditional option to acquire a 50% interest. Approximately, 70 km to the southwest along the structural corridor lies the Jifumpa copper mine, currently operated by a Chinese enterprise, Ruida Investments Limited. Deposits in this province are generally hosted at a higher stratigraphic level within the same rock package as the world-class Zambian copper belt deposits. Furthermore, the majority of company’s work was focused on the currently mined open pit zone where copper and gold mineralisation is being recovered by small scale, artisanal miners for direct sale to local processors.
Exploration review complete at Buffalo copper gold project in Zambia. Low costs entry point in the IOCG belt that anywhere else in the world would have been fully explored, Looking at strike length and depth potential but also interesting to note malachite presence and no sulphides identified as yet

Interesting here watching iron ore price that has steadily risen over May despite downgrades in steel production just before stockpiles have wound down and supply not keeping pace with basic demand; 'the price for the benchmark, 65% and 58% fines still surged 7.9%, 7.2% and 10.5% respectively in over the course of May.' BIA. inventories and quality v interesting for base metals not just the old supply and demand metrics. How much physical is being held and what is needed to blend?
